Offered today is a GORGEOUS Heinrich Handwerck antique German bisque child doll. She is an impressive 30 inches tall, with a perfect bisque head on her original ball-jointed body. Her lovely features include upper and lower painted eyelashes, nicely feathered eyebrows and a beautiful peaches-and-cream complexion with red accents at her nostrils, and artist-rendered fine lip lining on her mouth. Her mouth is open, with four upper teeth.
She is wearing a French human-hair wig and is dressed in an antique dress with lovely embroidered garland sand flowers, and with a matching hat. She also has pierced ears and is wearing earrings. Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment. Her head is free of any damage or repairs after careful examination. Her body is beautiful with all of its original finish and stamped Handwerck. She has a small cracked paint portion on arm (see final photo)... Though I just keep the sleeve pulled down to where it's not noticeable. She has her original blue sleep eyes with original eyelid wax, the eyes are in proper working condition.
IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of "hair" lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes in most cases!
, repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc.
- would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected.
I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, or U. These countries have more flexible Priority Post options, but it depends on the size and value of the item you're purchasing.
And provided the items can travel safely in the same box. Opens in a separate window/tab. As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. Not knowing what they're doing. And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective.
BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT.. I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition.
There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls. IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
