Antique 14 German Bisque Two-Faced Doll by Fritz Bartenstein This is is a fun doll! She is a bisque socket headed doll with two faces. The faces turn from happy to sad by a knob on the top of the head. The faces easily flip around depending on your mood or your doll's mood!
The doll is made by the German company Fritz Bartenstein, who patented the 2 face doll and mechanism. The head changed by turning a knob on the top of the head of the doll. On the'happy side', the doll has a smiling mouth with molded teeth. On the other side, the mouth is'open/closed' and in a screaming position. The head is enclosed in a cardboard bonnet which houses the head and forms into the shoulder-plate. The doll has a muslin covered torso with composition lower arms and legs.
The mama crier pull string is present but no longer works. She is perfectly costumed in a long antique christening gown, underclothes and a frilly lace trimmed bonnet. She will come with a scan of additional information from a doll reference book showing how she was manufactured. No damage and no repair and is clean from a smoke free environment.
