This is listing is for an antique German bisque doll made by Kestner from the late 1800's. She has a bisque socket head with an open dome and brown paper weight eyes. She has delicate painted brows and upper and lower lashes, open mouth with 2 teeth and beautiful coloring. Her original wig is made of blonde mohair and has the original plaster cap covering the open dome. Her Kestner composition ball jointed body is the chunky toddler type and is original to the doll.It is stamped "Germany 0" in red and has the remnants of paper label from the G. A Schwarz Toy Store in Philadelphia.
She is dressed in a white linen slip trimmed with lace and a white cotton skirt. She has cream knit socks and white vinyl toe shoes. She stands 13" tall and is marked "Made in Germany C 7 143, Condition: There is varnish missing on the front torso of her body and numerous dings, hairlines and wear and tear on her body.The bisque head is very good- no chips, hairlines or repairs.
