This doll was packed away for twenty years and was in one of the boxes that belonged to my sister. I dont know too much about antique dolls, but was told she is a Kestner shoulder head doll with the marking on back of neck 12 and Made in Germany. She was made around 1880 and has beautiful blue glass set eyes. She has finely painted upper and lower painted eyelashes, open mouth with upper teeth and accented nostril. She has a firmly stuffed leather body.
It looks like the arms should be restrung (not tight to body), and I dont know about one leg is covered in white tape the stuffing on that leg feels strong/full, I cant tell you what damage is there. The feet on both legs look good. Her lower bisque arms and head are free of chips, cracks or hairlines. I know nothing about wigs looks like human hair. The outfit is old with age stains on dress and underpants. The old slip was sewed on the doll and has old shoes and socks. I will let all the pictures speak for themselves or if need be ask for more. I have another of her dolls I will be listing. The item "Antique German Bisque 23 Kestner Shoudlerhead Doll Marked 12, c. 1880, withTeeth" is in sale since Friday, May 26, 2017.
