Teeth, I believe are porcelain. Dark brown, long human hair wig connected to the pate which is glued on tightly. GERMAN BISQUE HEAD DOLL, MADE FOR GEORGE BORGFELDT: Bisque head doll with open-close brown eyes and jointed composition body.On the back of the head. The body can hold a pose. She wears old pantaloons and slip.
The pate is tightly glued on the crown edge which will make it very difficult to pack the inside of the head without cutting the pate off which might make the pate ragged. Age: 1890's give or take 10 years approximately.Condition: A little plaster is showing at the far corners and since the plaster is so white, I suspect the eyes were re-set sometime earlier. Leather shoes show lifting of leather in places. I do not see any cracks, hairlines or chips on the bisque head.
A little rub to paint above outside right eye corner. Chips and minor cracks to body.
