Beautiful large early Kestner bisque socket doll head with no mold number. Multi-stroked eyebrows, fixed blue eyes, painted lower lashes, mohair upper lashes, open mouth with 4 teeth. The bisque has a few issues - some of which were produced during manufacturing. I will mention all that I see to the best of my abilities. Upper left ear has a small cut in the bisque.
Partial hairline around each ear where they connect to the head (along front of upper right ear and along back of left ear). Also small hairline along inner curve of right ear.
The bottom of the neck has small chip and a tiny cut in the bisque. There are a few kiln specks.
Tiny air bubbles and faint drip/pour lines in the bisque (not sure what to call them) down the back of the head. Two faint internal hairlines visible only when shining a light inside the head - one near the crown along the back and other above the left ear. Cannot really be seen looking straight on or inside the head even under the harsh light conditions. Other than the few kiln specks, the head will look perfect when assembled! Please see all photos for details. The head measures approx 6 3/4 tall from the top of the head to the bottom of the neck hole. Head circumference is just over 13. Needs torso with neck opening approximately 2 1/8 in diameter.
The doll will be 26- 27 tall with a body. The head weighs just over 1 lb.Head with be stuffed with tissue.
