To either her head or her bisque lower arms. Her blonde mohair wig I believe to be original and it is very thick and full. She has gorgeous blue glass eyes in their original non sleeping set. Her leather body is original and has had some work, that being a reinforcement to the area under the breastplate with muslin and the top part of the arms that run under it. I have seen this type of repair done this way before, and this is very well done. There is no leaking of sawdust to the body. There is a tape repair as shown around the left knee, but again, no leaking from it. Her dress is wonderful and antique. I dont know if it is original, but could be.
It is all one piece and ties at the back with original cloth drawstring. The ribbon addition to the dress and hair are later additions, but quite old. The antique pin is included. Her bloomers are a later replacement. Her shoes and socks are original to the doll and I have not removed them for fear of damaging them. The shoes show wear but are not falling apart.
I did check the feet by squeezing and moving them a little bit and they are secure with no leakage. They are being shown because they have similar markings and of the same time period. Please look at all the pictures as they are a big part of the description. Also, please take the time to look at my other auctions for more dolls I have listed.Antique Early 19 Long Face Closed Mouth Kestner 7 ½ Bisque Head Doll" is in sale since Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
