Gusseted Kid Leather "Lady Body". Mohair Wig on Cork Pate. Rohmer dolls were made in Paris from 1857 through 1880.From the Regina Steele Collection. Regina Steele only collected the very best. Here you have a FANTASTIC antique lady-body Poupée de Mode by Marie Leontine Rohmer (Paris), approx. 13.5 tall, in extraordinary condition. See condition details further below.
Her gusseted kid-leather body, with wood-jointed knees and shoulders, has the Rohmer oval ink stamp and the two distinctive grommets in front. She has the usual fixed-elbow bisque lower arms and hands. She is dressed in an antique silk gown, as you see.She is also wearing a cotton petticoat and pantaloons, socks, and antique leather shoes with heels. Her necklace is real gold (originally a bracelet) with coral and pearl. Don't miss your chance! Dolls by Marie Rohmer are extremely hard to come by. This extraordinary Rohmer lady would be a perfect addition to any serious collector's trove of French dolls. Note: Props not included: DOLL STAND. Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment. I have not removed the cork pate (which might damage it) to inspect the interior of her head. But from the outside, as you see, it looks beautiful. The kid body is in amazing condition -- especially for its age! -- including the wooden joints. Very often, you see these old fashion dolls with damage to the joints. The ink stamp is age-faded.
Her silk gown is very fragile, with some age fading/staining. The antique shoes (under her gown) have age loss to the surface. The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues.Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that's not perfect and may need touch-up. I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, or U. These countries have more flexible Priority Post options, but it depends on the size and value of the item you're purchasing. And provided the items can travel safely in the same box. Opens in a separate window/tab. As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us.
Not knowing what they're doing. And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective. BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT..
I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls. IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
