Rabery & Delphieu was founded in Paris, France in 1856 by Jean Delphieu and Alexandre Rabery. They began primarily making doll bodies of pink cloth, kid or linen. Bisque heads are poured or pressed, swivel or stationary. This porcelain bisque head doll is an exquisite reproduction of an antique doll by the French company of Rabery & Delphieu.

This doll by doll artisan, Jamie Englert, is an exact copy of her doll that won the "Millie" award of the Doll Artisan Guild. The dolls are judged in many categories of expertise from painting to costuming. This is one of five dolls Jamie produced and costumed to copy her winning doll. The doll has the most beautiful childlike face with her soft china painted complexion and her large expressive Paperweight blown glass Brown eyes from Germany. She has a lovely Honey blonde, long human hair wig.

Her ears are pierced and she wears wired dangle pearl earrings. The pearls match her lavalier necklace, 12 long with gold tone beads mixed with tiny gold carved beads and beige pearls that ends at one long central drop and one precious fresh water pearl. The dress bodice is made of a silk blue velvet with inset sleeves of English netting material with an intricate embroidery design which gathers at the dolls wrist.

The underdress is a cream silk covered with an overskirt of opulent cream tone vintage Bridal lace with design embroidery patterns. The handmade hat is in the blue velvet over a buckram and wire frame trimmed with pale blue ostrich plumes and trimmed with delicate white silk flowers with pearl stamens.

The doll wears 100% cotton pantaloons bobbin lace trimmed with a full Petticoat of white batiste trimmed with fine bobbin lace. There is an under petticoat lace trimmed with stiffener to add body to her outfit. Her socks are beautiful hand knit, in a cream color. Shoes are handmade leather Mary Jane style with a silk flower rosette and silk ties.

All doll and costume hand made by the artist. Her face is gorgeous and hand painted. She has an articulated composition body and fully jointed. This doll is a reproduction made by the famous doll artist Jamie Elgert in 1988. She is in excellent condition.

The doll comes with a quality wooden doll stand. The item "Reproduction Antique Bisque Head Doll with Composition Body R&D by Jamie Englert" is in sale since Tuesday, November 29, 2016. This item is in the category "Dolls & Bears\Dolls\Antique (Pre-1930)\Bisque\French".
