Steiner bisque pressed head doll made in Paris in 1889. Head has been black lighted and has no hairlines or other damage. Doll has blue glass sleep eyes and pierced ears and open mouth with six upper teeth. The eyes have eyelashes painted above and below the beautiful blue eyes. Her nostrils are accented and the heart shaped rosy lips are highlighted around edges.
She has a working voice box with lever eyes. The lever is missing but the mechanism for eyes is attached to eyes in head and you can move eyes with your finger. There is a hole in left side of head where the lever would go through and attach to inside lever that is still attached to eyes.
Doll body has normal wear for a 120 year old doll. It has a small area on upper ball joint of right leg that the paint has been touched up.She has her original blond mohair wig and cardboard pate. Her white antique shoes and socks are not original. Her cream vintage dress with lots of lace is not original but looks good and fits her perfectly. Back of head is incised J. Body is two piece with working cryer mechanism inside. Cryer works by pulling string on side of body.
On chest is a decal that says Magasin des enfants Jouets et jeus pasage de opera Paris. On the left hip is another decal of a girl holding a flag and has printing Le Petit Parisienne Bebe J.
